Harden Vegas Vacation, Day 2 & 3

Geoff, Josh, and I spent both evenings walking the strip. They had never done that before and the exercise is much needed in my court. Surprisingly, I'm not too sore from doing what probably amounted to 9 miles of walking. No joke.

Highlights/pictures from Day 2, Christmas day:

I think my favorite free place in Vegas is the Bellagio Conservatory. They had it all Christmased out when we were there. This is but a single view of a single topiary-like thing. Roses on the tree thing, cranberries in the water.

I'm trying to imitate Captain America here. Since I've never actually seen Captain America, I'm sure I'm doing a poor job. Oh yeah, this is outside the Paris Las Vegas.

Here's something you don't see in Oklahoma. The customer service people at the Desert Passage in the Aladdin Casino are on Segways. I'm jealous.

There is a Sephora inside this mall and another one inside the Venitian. I subjected my brothers to both location. Sephora has the whole colelction of Jessica Simpson's Dessert Treats. We watched the Newlyweds episode where Jessica got sick at the photoshoot for this on the trip out here. You can see the picture on the main page to see what I'm talking about. You've probably seen the picture before. Anyway, I told my brothers that the body splash stuff tasted good. I sprayed some on my forearm, licked it off, and said "yum." I then said to my brothers, "Here, take a lick" and held out my arm. I didn't actually expect Joshua to stick out his tongue so quick, but he did. Showing redneck behavior in public is such fun!

We walked back and crashed.

Day 3 pictures/highlights:

Dad got 2 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts this morning (26th). Yum. Actually, the icing machine was broken and so they weren't all that tasty. Once again, I just can't have nice things.

Joshua wanted to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe for lunch, so we did. I am extremely unimpressed with every Hard Rock Cafe I've been to. $11 for my cajun chicken sandwich and it wasn't really that good. Although the waitress was very pretty and wearing a shortish skirt, the service wasn't the best. I tried to convince my family that Hamburger Mary's across the street would have been better, but apparently they don't want their children exposed to a cowboy/gay/drag hamburger place. It'll have to wait until next time, Mags.

We came back and I slept for about 3 hours. That night, the brothers and I resumed strip walking where we left off.

Inside of the Mandalay Place, we went into the funniest store I've seen in my 25 years, Lush Puppy. It was all foofy stuff for a small dog. They probably had a selection of about 50 different couture (or would that be dogture?) sweaters, coats, and hoodies for dogs under 15 pounds. They also had fuzzy dog beds, organic dog treats, and bejeweled dog collars/leashes. I love my Shelby, but there is just no need. Her $5 sweater from PetSmart serves her just fine for when it's under 30 degrees.

Josh and I at the World of Coca-Cola. This bear makes a noise that is supposed to sound like a coke opening and him slurping it. Instead, it sounds like his stomach gurgling followed by farting.

I saw this inside the depths of the Mandalay Bay casino. Only Doug and his friend Alex will get it.

When we got back to our hotel, we ate a $3.99 graveyard special. 2 eggs, 2 pieces of toast, hash browns, coffee, and sausage. I ate it all, but it wasnt delic at all.

Going to try to see a show tonight. Here's hoping for Penn & Teller.
