Pants and Slacks

Dawson's Creek: Season 1: Disc 2. I can't believe Tamara got away so easily after sleeping with a student.

The Brothers Grimm (2005) = 2/10. Really cool visual effect. And that's about all.

When I spend a great deal of time with someone, I tend to adopt some of their habits. Specifically, I tend to adopt that person's wordage and phrasing. Doug says "pants" when referring to "slacks." And apparently this is one of the words I have swapped in the last 8 months, too.

Leave it up to yours truly to turn this new habit into an embarrassing moment.

Dog Shelby has a fickle disposition with people. Sometimes a person she knows and likes becomes the receiving end of her barking. It appears to be random to me, but I suspect it has to do with how the person is standing and/or if the person is on "Shelby's territory."

Saturday evening, I took Shelby out to tinkle and also took that opportunity to return neighbor Giselle's shoebox and hairspray. The last time Giselle came to my apartment, Shelby barked at her like a mad dog. But yesterday evening, Shelby barked none and pulled her "oh, I'm so happy to see you PLEASE pick me up" dance for Giselle. Here's the abbreviated version of my Freudian slip mixed with my new wordage for slacks:

Giselle: You know, Shelby hasn't barked once.
Me: I know. Maybe it has something to do with this not being on her territory like my apartment?
Giselle: Could be.
Me: It's weird. Shelby loves Doug, but she barks like crazy at him sometimes. She does not like Doug wearing pants.
Giselle: [laughs]
Me: No...wait...I mean slacks.
Giselle: Oh good, because I can think of two other options: skirts and no pants. Neither of which Doug should do in public.
Me: Especially with him being a teacher.

We both laughed this off. I do have a way with other's words.

I didn't get to see the extra features of Supersize Me, we just caught it on the Sundance Channel.
What'd I miss?

I'm trying to lose weight.
