I'm the Mail jerk

I hadn't heard from my friend M for about two weeks, so I decided to give her a call last night. She's been sick for like 3 weeks and she finally found out what her problem is. Well, physical problems at least. She has mono and a KIDNEY STONE!!! The odd part: she just turned 22 in June. Passing a kidney stone is not on my "to do" list for a birthday. Or ever. She said that it was painful but not just horrible.

From the department of that's neat, but what do I do with it?: my co-worker just got back from an Alaskan cruise. She got me a Gold Label Collection Matchbox Melodies. It looks like a matchbox and when you open it and plays "We wish you a Merry Christmas." Also these little people on a lake move around. This picture the general idea. Christmas in July. Gotta love it!

I feel like such a jerk. Since my parents have been on their vacation (going on a month now), the next door neighbor was in charge of picking up the parental unit's mail. I've been coming over to next door neighbor's house every Sunday after church to get my mail that still comes to them out, look for checks, and look for bills. I called neighbor on Friday to tell her I was going to be there Sunday and when I called on Sunday, she wasn't there. Doug was with me and heard me make remarks about neighbor being a flake sometimes. Well, I found out that neighbor's sister died suddenly either late Friday or sometime Saturday and she rushed to Indianapolis to be there for the funeral and spend some time with her family until she starts her new job on the 14^th. So now I feel like an asshat for saying mean things about her. And now I get to be in charge of two mailboxes full of mail for a bit. Yay me!
