No dumping

The Girl Next Door = 6/10. I feel so dirrty for liking this movie. It was totally unbelievable, but fun. Given my recent slew of movies rated less than 5/10, this was a much needed make-believe/fun movie. It was amusing to see Alonzo Bodden in it. I remember him from LCS 2. I hate how they portray the teachers as idiots. I'd say only about 10% of them are that stupid. And that's probably average for any given profession. Hands down, my most favorite thing was the pig costume at the convention. I'm still laughing about it.

Man of the House = 6.5/10. I watched this one with my brothers. It was definitely not as chick flick as I thought it was going to be.

I've decided Becky of Netflix Fan is totally my new BFF. Check out what she did. All I did was send her an email and ask her if I could be her friend on Netflix. As of this writing, I now have 12 Netflix friends. I have no idea how old many of them are, what their preferences are, etc, but I have friends. Yay. I feel completely inadequate compared to some of these people. Becky has rated 1618 movies, Robert 2502, Jonathan 2024. I'm at a mere 643. Then again, I haven't spent an eternity trying to rate each movie I've ever watched and I've only been a member since this July. I wish I had someone I know as a Netflix friend (like, ahem, the person I've been convincing needs to join), but I'll take what I can get.

To those of you who found me through my new BFF, I think it's important for you to realize a few things about my Netflix philosophy:

  • I supplement my Netflix account with DVDs I check out from the library. Regardless of how long it takes to get a movie from my library, I get the movie from the library. It's FREE. I do free more than I do movies.
  • I am watching movies created from a to-see movie list I started back in 2000 when I was a full-time college student and working 25 hours/week. I wanted to remember the movies for a later time. Fast forward to now and I have 148 on that official list.
  • I add most new movies new movies to my queue by watching trailers at work on the Apple site. Apparently, intentionally watching trailers at home would make me "sad."
  • I plan to watch the AFI 100 lists. The movies not available from the library are the only ones on my queue. They are near the bottom right now, above the TV shows.
  • After my t0-see movie list is done, I'm outtie.
  • I don't time shift my Netflix DVDs
  • I typically watch the movies the night I get them, and return them the next day.
  • My nearest distribution center is 90 miles away in Oklahoma City.
  • I am on the 3 at a time plan, but twice a month I let my brothers rent something.
  • I watch movies only one time unless I didn't get the jokes the first time.
  • I am perpetually addicted to bad movies (chick flicks, wedding movies, kids movies) and don't do scary movies. They scare me.

On with the odd:

You know when I felt the best physically in my life? It was around this time last year for a period of 4 months. I set up a ritual for myself.

22:00-22:15 - Take Shelby peepeepoopoo, wash my face/brush my teeth
22:15-22:30 - Climb INTO bed
11:00 - Lights out.

After a week of doing this, I found myself actually getting through books at a reasonable pace, having a lot more energy, not feeling sick, etc. This ritual stopped with the advent of a Mr. January and since then, my schedule is off totally. But I cannot blame anyone but myself. Ok, I might be able to blame 2 days of the week on Doug when he stays past my bedtime, but he's totally worth losing sleep over. I decided to get all ritualistic again last night and followed my old habit from last year.

To my surprise, I woke up this morning with the world's biggest headache.

At work, I left a plastic cup on my desk with about a quarter inch of water/soda in it from the previous day. The plan was to dump out the water in the sink and to throw away cup in the trash can. What happened was the complete opposite. I threw away the water in the trash can and dumped the cup/straw in the sink. I realized this only after I took 5 steps. Yikes.

I couldn't just leave the water in the trash can. There were only 3 others in the office today. Since I'm the youngest, they would have all thought it was me. What's a reasonable girl to do? Start putting dry paper towels in the trash can, of course. Thankfully, no one caught me doing these things.

Methnks I need less sleep?

Hey, I liked The Girl Next Door, too. I expected it to be a lot more smutty than it was. I really liked Timothy Olyphant in it, but the first time I saw it I was convinced that was the Tad Hamilton dude.

I knew Timothy Olyphany reminded me of SOMEONE, but I haven't recently watched any of his movies. Thanks for putting a small piece of my mind at ease. You do realize we just admitted that we both watched Win a Date with Tad Hamilton, right? Oh well. I admitted freely that I watched From Justin to Kelly.

Well umm... if it makes it better, I watched Win a Date with Tad Hamilton after I had my wisdom tooth out this past Christmas. That, and Mean Girls and something else.
I knew I'd be on my own after the first day and on lots of painkillers, so ahead of time I rented every girly movie I knew Aaron would never want to watch with me.

I saw from Justin to Kelly as I was flipping channels once. It hurt my head when they started singing and dancing.

I'm so glad my readers responded to your request for friends. That is so cool.

My to-see list has over six hundred titles on it, so it will be a long while before I can quit renting DVDs online.

My library is not as good as yours, apparently.
