No, the name of the song is...

Arrested Development: Season 3: Disc 2 (2005). End of series. There's a big empty space that now needs to filling. What on earth will I watch now? I really loved this series (that must be watched in order) and will probably watch it again at some point. Even with Doug next to me, I'm sure a lot of the sublte humor was lost. It'll take multiple viewings to fully appreciate its depth. Oh yeah, thanks for turning me on to this show, Giselle!

Lonesome Jim (2005) = 5.5/10. I love Steve Buscemi and this movie was essentially like watching his characters act. It's the first time I could totally pick up on the director's personality. However, the subject matter was so super depressing, it overshadowed the subtle humor and great acting.

My computer crashed Friday. And because my supreme diagnostic testing only includes peering into the CPU to check for something obviously unplugged or broken/exploded and blowing canned air on the fans in the hopes that will somehow fix things, I spent $105 on repair. Thank God that it was "only" a broken power supply. Have I backed up anything the last 2 years? Working on it now! Huge lesson learned! Renaming photo files from the last year sucks, though.

The Blue Man Group Friday:

They're a little too, I dunno, post-modern or something for me. Tracy Bonham doesn't really mesh well as an opening act. And the actual music performed by BMG was bleh. All of the original (read: poor colors) photos taken (mainly by Geoffrey) from the evening are posted here. Nothing really worth seeing.

I did manage to make a minor idiot of myself at the concert, though. One of the closing songs was a familiar melody...

Josh: Hey Geoff, they're playing DuhDuh....O'....ley [At least that's what I heard].

Geoff: Yeah

[30 seconds later]

Me: [to Josh] Hey, they're playing a cover of Teenage Wasteland, right?

Josh: Yeah, DuhDuh....O'....ley.

Me: Nuh-uh. That's totally Teenage Wasteland.

Josh: It says teenage wasteland in the song, but it's called Baba O'Riley.

Me: Nuh-uh. Hey, Geoff....this song's called Teenage Wasteland, right?

Geoff: No, it's Baba O'Riley.

Me: [having a major paradigm shift as I've just been, for the very first time, corrected by my much younger brothers on a subject I generally know much more about and I realize that this isn't going to be the last time I'll be corrected ] OMG! Are you for real? I'm so embarrassed. I've been calling it that for so long and no one's ever corrected me.

They were nice enough not to laugh, though. Good thing, too. Because even though they might be taller than me now, I'm pretty sure I can still kick their tushies. Ahhh, the power of weightlifting.

don't feel bad, R. The Who had called it "Teenage wasteland" on one of their recent greatest hits compilations just so folks would know which song it was , as few peeps know it by it's real name. You can blame this on the radio stations for not announcing names after they play the songs. Thank goodness for meta-tags on Ipods and digital files to correct this problem.

I thought it was Teenage Wasteland, too.

Your post makes me glad I didn't spend the big bucks to see BMG at the Venetian. I think they are a little too "out there" for me, too.

Glad I'm not the only one! Instead of spending money on a live tour, you can just watch a DVD of their concert.

This DVD, to be exact.

Did the $105 include the new power supply? If so and depending on what they replaced it with, you didn't get ripped off too badly

$45 = 1 hour of labor
$60 = "parts"

Geek Rescue gave me this box which costs a lousy $18.95, but this box contains my old power supply. He said he puts the old parts in so that the customer knows that something was taken out of the computer. So yeah, I probably got ripped a little, but I'm ok with that.

I don't even know that song. Does that help?

Oh and don't be silly next time. What good is having a computer dude neighbor if you don't take advantage? I'll be personally offended. :)

you know the song
it's ubiquitous.
It's currently the theme song for CSI-NY
