A BMI called normal

Deliver Us from Eva (2003) = 4/10. Ya know, Gabrielle Union is hot. It wasn't an awful movie, but it's one that's been on my list forever and needed to go away.

I weigh myself every Monday morning- same scale, same time, same clothes (none). Occasionally I will weigh myself mid-week just because. About a week ago I woke up and stumbled groggily into the bathroom to begin the pre-work morning routine. After I took care of teeth and tinkle, I figured I could step on the scale just to see. I was putting off geting in the shower. With one eye open, I hop on. The number I see confuses me. [hmmm...maybe I just stepped on the wrong place and the scale is reading it wrong] Two more tries, same result. The number still confuses me. I've kept diligent track of my weight (on a spreadsheet, no less. Shut up.) since Novmeber 2004 and I have never seen this number. The last time I remember seeing anything remotely close to this number was in 2000 or 2001.

I step on the scale a 4th and final time. I realize that, for the first time in a long time, I am now a normal weight according to the archaic BMI.

I smile slightly and then turn around to face myself in the mirror. I'm immediately faced with the realization that I cannot see anything that looks that's different than it did two months ago. ARGH!

Two days later, I was told "those pants you're wearing look ridiculously big on you. Go shopping already." So, apparently something does look different.

After work that day, I went to the jewelry store where my ring was being re-re-sized. They got it wrong the first time. I asked the clerk how much it usually was to get a ring resized and why might people get them sized more than once?

"Well, it's usually $25 and some people have accidents with their ring or gain or lose a lot of weight. So, keep that in mind if you ever decide to lose weight."

Thanks for ruining my normal BMI day.

Awww, thanks! Then again, that's what a MOH is supposed to say. :)

I almost got my ring sized up when I first got it. I'm glad I didn't, though, because now it fits just right at the size it was straight out of the case.

I doubt the clerk thought you needed to lose weight. Salespeople never mention weight loss to actual fat people-- It's an unwritten rule. Therefore, take it as a compliment. :)
